Jacquelynn Brynn Photography
I’m writing this as I’m waiting for takeoff to head back to the Pacific Northwest to shoot at one of my favorite venues. This year was full of change and in that time I expanded my coverage to be bi-coastal. Enjoying all the additional beauty that I’ve been exposed to in Nashville. I was thrilled to share a little with B&B readers
“At Borrowed & Blue, we know everyone deserves a beautiful wedding. The best way to make the practical parts happen? Hire amazing vendors to help you plan your day. PNW weddings are in a category all their own—and that’s because the wedding community up here is full of some serious all-stars. That’s why I reached out to Jacquelynn to learn a little bit more about weddings in Seattle and Lake Chelan! Jacquelynn is a local with lots of experience photographing weddings, which is why she was a perfect fit to answer some questions for us about what it’s like being a wedding photographer in the area! I’m so glad we were able to get to know her a bit better.”

Here’s our Q&A:
1. Hey Jacquelynn! How did you get started as a photographer?
You can thank the universe that brought me together with a wonderful man from a small town in the middle of nowhere. I was a corporate finance analyst in Portland. When I knew he was “the one”, I asked myself what kind of job could I create that I would love to do. So I bought my first 5D just in time for my friends wedding in Vegas. After that I created a website and clients sought me out from google searches. When my children were born I went full time.
2. Share an image with us that you think sums up your photographic aesthetic—and tell us why!
There are a number of reasons why this moment and couple sticks in my mind. This is a gorgeous venue that overlooks Lake Chelan, and has a number of beautiful areas to shoot at. But as a part of a working orchard it also offered another side. Tucked away and covered in real grit. And a couple adventurous enough to trust me.
3. Do you have a favorite aspect of your job?
Our wedding photographer messed up big time, so being able to deliver timeless images is my way of creating the images I never got. But lots of photographers make stunning images. I also insure they enjoyed their day to the fullest, keeping them carefree thru the little things like helping clear their plates before the toasts (that also makes their images prettier). The day is over in a flash and I want them to soak it in.
4. What makes a Chelan wedding different from a wedding in another part of the country?
The people! I’ve never had a bridezilla. Ladies in the PNW are easy going and up for fun ideas. It also helps that most of my weddings are outdoors and surrounded by majesty. Lake Chelan offers a plethora of backdrops, from woodland greens, pristine waters, vineyards, beaches, orchards… I can go on. Also in Chelan the vendors all know and compliment each other very well for a seamless event.
5.. What are your tips for brides planning their wedding?
Two things...Break the mold, and don’t be afraid to put your spin on everything… don’t like cake? Make a donut tower. And if you want gorgeous images, think about the details. Is your cake sitting in the sun, in front of fire extinguishers, or cut in complete darkness with no lighting? Your photographers can work a lot of magic, but somethings are easily fixed with some vision ahead of time.
6. Share one of your favorite memories from photographing a wedding.
Easy! In 2014 I had the incredible privilege to shoot a wedding that had FIVE of my past/present/future brides at one wedding. I have been blessed to get to become friends my brides and really fell in love with all of their families and friends!
I hope you enjoyed the Q&A! Make sure you check out Borrowed & Blue, too; it’s a great place to find Seattle wedding planners.
2015 was a spectacular year of unique celebrations! As well as a lot of change behind the lens. My coolness factor just skyrocketed with my new bi-coastal photographer status ;) Our family moved on to exciting new adventures in Nashville, but I'm still shooting in Washington. I'll be traveling for a number of 2016 events.
And in a lovely year in review, Seattle Bride Magazine featured the Balloun wedding at Rio Vista Winery in the number 2 position.
It's a huge honor to know that these moments drew people in.
I'm just a solo shooter with my cameras- capturing memories as a participant of these beautiful celebrations. Every minute of this process is a labor of love and satisfies a part of my creative being- Thank you for indulging me!
Happy 2016! And to more adventures to come!
This day never gets old... And it's so great to see it featured in the latest Seattle Bride Magazine! Laid back and lovely really does capture the celebration... Enjoy!

I can't believe Kevlyn even asked if she could bring their mini-labradoodle Moose- of course! And now I completely want one! But besides all of that curly cuteness... Kevlyn and Ryan are planning their Lake Chelan wedding this Fall at Karma Vineyards and wanted to come over to the lake for their engagement photos. We started in the mountains and made our way to the water, with the most beautiful sunset. Enjoy!
There’s a famous painting by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano called The Singing Butler. Do you know it? The minute Kevlyn and Ryan’s sweet engagement session came in, my thoughts went right to that painting. It’s one of my favorites. Add in the adorable pictures with Moose, Kevlyn and Ryan’s oh-so cute mini Labradoodle, and these images by Jacquelynn Brynn Photography around beautiful Lake Chelan are gosh darn perfect!
This was the most beautiful day with the perfect timeline- that allowed for the most stunning sunset portraits. I am so excited to share this wedding with you and I hope you enjoy their beautiful celebration!
I am so glad the Seattle rain stayed away for this gorgeous Washington wedding. The loving couple couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day, as their photos shot by Jacquelynn Brynn Photography turned out absolutely amazing! A whimsical and modern color palette of purple and gray create a perfect ambiance, and the bride Tanya is here with us today sharing all about her beautiful day!
Where to start. Carra’s family are grape growers and in the wine industry and it showed on their special day. They created their own wine to sell for their honeymoon fund, complete with labels, corks. Funny enough they copied their favorite Chelan Wine. They had a bubbly bar for guests as they entered. A cigar bar that went to the wee hours. ADORABLE flower girls, stunning portraits, Vera Wang Dress. They even brought over Locast Street Taxi (band) to DJ and sing. There was her grandfathers classic Ford truck for photos and her getaway. Late night grilled cheese and tomato soup. And just a touch of glitter on her shoes, flower girls heart purses, and the champs!
I am super excited for today’s wedding! Like majorly excited!
Carra and Andrew were married on June 21st, 2014 at the Tsillan Cellars Winery in Washington. Their wedding as a mix of so many fab elements. It’s was modern, romantic, with some rustic touches. It provides the perfect amount of wedding inspiration.
Tia and Nate had a well planned gorgeous cobalt blue wedding. Full of thoughtful details for each guest like hand written notes, and personalized Jones Soda thank you favors (and I even got spoiled with fine dark chocolates from their local chocolatier). They chose Karma for their destination wedding, as Tia's family- although from Canada, has a long history visiting the lake. I got to spend extra time with them traveling for portraits after the ceremony, which was great because Chelan has soo many different areas! Tia and Nate also decided on a unique timeline, sharing a toast and their first dance immediately after the ceremony at the panorama, I just love when couples make their day their own. Enjoy!
We chose Lake Chelan as our destination wedding locale because, aside from its stunning scenery and surroundings, we wanted to unite our families into one in a small intimate setting.
My advice: The best piece of advice is to plan everything early. We started booking 16 months ahead and it was difficult finding availabilities. By starting early, there’s no mad dash of stress and when your wedding day arrives, you will be excited for it as opposed to being overwhelmed, exhausted, and just plain over it! This is a beautiful time in your lives that you’ll only get once. Enjoy your engagement – love it, embrace it, and have fun with it!
I am so excited to share Nikko and Mark's Karma Vineyard wedding. It was an insanely beautiful day, full of breathtaking details, and an intense connection that made for a stunning gallery to remember their celebration! Enjoy!
Nikko Kimball (26 and a financial professional) and Mark Gronhovd (33 and a technical recruiter at Amazon.com) sat across each other during a mutual friend’s birthday party dinner. Nikko thought Mark was attractive right from the start, and later on that night the two of them hit it off. The couple was traveling to Cabo San Lucas together, and Nikko suspected that’s when Mark was going to propose. As they were packing for the trip, Mark suddenly wanted to go for a walk at the nearby park. Once they were by the water, Mark got down on one knee and proposed to Nikko. The couple had their outdoor wedding at Karma Vineyards overlooking Lake Chelan in Washington. The natural space surrounded by vineyards was decorated in a neutral color palette of cream and light gray with blush detail. Their simple, classic style was brought to life on the wedding day through blossoming white flowers. With an intimate guest list of about 100, the couple wanted to focus on spending time with all their loved ones, along with honor the memory of relatives who had passed away. “Both Mark and I had lost grandparents and other family members, and it was important to have memories of them at our wedding,” says Nikko. “We displayed our parent's and grandparent's wedding photos on our welcome table, which meant a lot to our family.”
When I say that my brides are more than just clients, Ashley quickly found a place in my heart. Ashley and Jason have such a great connection to Lake Chelan, and it really was reflected in their celebration of their marriage overlooking the beautiful landscape surrounded by the lush vineyard of Karma Winery. Enjoy all the gorgeous details featured on Fab You Bliss today!
Ashley’s mom was an original wine club member at Karma Vineyards where the family made many memories over the years and became great friends with the owners. Ashley and Jason even spent the recent Valentine’s Day at the winery.
The couple met at the Lake years ago and so wanted to incorporate it into their wedding along with their love of boating, which was shown in their prep location, footwear, and cake topper. Cute, huh? A few of our favorite details, the beautiful watercolor blush paper goods throughout by Caskey Design, the fresh and lovely blooms, the sweet bridal party robes and the photography by Jacquelynn Brynn Photography.
We didn't get much snow this Winter, but when Shandrica wanted a pretty white backdrop, the snow dance worked. They not only got to enjoy Winterfest at Lake Chelan, but visit the wineries to search for a venue and engagement portraits! Enjoy the great feature from Apple Brides!
It’s hard to long for Summer’s speedy return when seeing amazing winter engagement shoots like these. Loving bride to be’s scarf/wrap, what a clever way to stay warm and add a pretty prop to the photos! Photographer Jacquelynn Brynn braved the full on blizzard to capture couple Shandrica and Aaron session and it totally paid off, just scroll through theses gorgeous images!
